The creators of the game say that the name was inspired by the popular zombie/survival game, DayZ. It actually started as a zombie survival/puzzle game called CarMax. You are given the goal of saving a community of people from the zombies. It's up to you to defend the people, rescue them from the zombies, and fight the zombie hordes. These supplies are needed by the people to stay alive.
